For France

CIDEM is a French non-profit association that specialises in questions relating to civics and democracy. It was set up in 1984 in response to a wish expressed by several associations to develop activities in favour of citizenship education and to promote democracy. The organisation has continued to develop to meet the needs of society and to affirm its identity and its unique vocation. CIDEM currently has 11 member associations with extremely varied origins and fields of action, united by the same desire to contribute to the development of independent, responsible citizens joined in solidarity. It is a resource centre for anyone seeking to learn about, take part in or develop their sense of citizenship. Its mission is to encourage citizen commitment.

The French association Animafac is a network for exchanging experience and a resource centre for students. Animafac offers tools for development and spaces for establishing dialogue and joint projects to more than 12 000 student organisations in France.   • an interactive website with several feature articles and practical resources;
  • training throughout France and sometimes across Europe.
