Text On 4 July 1957, on the basis of the work carried out by the French Ministry of Trade and Industry, the French monthly economics publication L’Usine Nouvelle outlines the problems posed for the national economy by the establishment of the European Economic Community (EEC), with particular regard to the association of the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs).
