Lithuania's application for accession to the European Union (8 December 1995)
Text On 8 December 1995, Algirdas Brazauskas, President of the Republic of Lithuania, and his Prime Minister, Adolfas Slezevicius, forward to Javier Solana, Spanish Foreign Minister and President-in-Office of the Council of the European Union, a joint letter in which they officially apply for Lithuania’s accession to the European Union.
