Debate in the Second Chamber of the Netherlands on the ratification of the Rome Treaties (1 October 1957)
Text On 1 October 1957, as debates are held in the Second Chamber of the Netherlands on the ratification of the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community (EEC), the majority of members of parliament are in favour of ratification, despite the treaty’s failure to meet certain Dutch requirements.
