Communiqué issued by the WEU Council of Ministers on the situation in the Gulf (Paris, 17 January 1991)
Text In the context of the Gulf War, the Council of Ministers of Western European Union (WEU), meeting in extraordinary session on 17 January 1991 in Paris, strongly condemns the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and reaffirms its determination to enhance its naval operations aimed at enforcing the embargo on goods imposed by the United Nations.
