‘We are already “Euro”-peans …’ ‘… which means that we still enjoy counting our pesetas, but we now have delusions of grandeur …’ To mark the official launch of the euro on 1 January 1999, Javirroyo and Estrellita Mutante, Spanish cartoonists, take an ironic look at the way the event is perceived by two old villagers.
