Angela Merkel signs the Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union (Brussels, 2 March 2012)

On 2 March 2012 in Brussels, Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, signs the Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union. The treaty is signed by the Heads of State or Government of 25 of the European Union Member States (the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic do not sign) and comes into force on 1 January 2013.
