Address given by Willy Brandt on inter-German relations (16 September 1989)
Text On 16 September 1989, two months before the fall of the Berlin Wall, Willy Brandt, Honorary Chairman of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD), emphasises to the Congress of the Lower Saxony Section of the SPD the importance of the unification of Europe and comments on the role of a united Europe in helping to provide Germany with a future that is founded on a political order guaranteeing peace and security on the European continent.
