The Committee of the Regions has its seat in Brussels.

During the Edinburgh European Council held in December 1992, the Representatives of the Governments of the Member States declared that ‘the Committee of the Regions, having an organisational structure in common with the Economic and Social Committee, shall also have its seat in Brussels’ (Statement annexed to the Decision taken by common agreement between the Representatives of the Governments of the Member States on the location of the seats of the institutions and of certain bodies and departments of the European Communities).

The Decision adopted during the Edinburgh European Council locating the seat of the Economic and Social Committee in Brussels is confirmed by the Protocol on the location of the seats of the institutions annexed to the Treaties by the Treaty of Amsterdam of 2 October 1997.
