TextDecision of the Representatives of the Governments of the Member States on the provisional location of certain institutions and departments of the Communities. In a meeting held on 8 April 1965 in Brussels, the Representatives of the Governments of the Member States decided provisionally to locate the institutions and other bodies of the European Communities in Strasbourg, Brussels and Luxembourg.

Model of the new building (Kirchberg, Luxembourg)
ImageModel of the new Court of Auditors building, Luxembourg, the first stone of which was laid on 18 June 2001 by Jan O. Karlsson, President of the Court from 1999 to 2001. The new building will be used as an extension to the main building, making it possible for the entire staff of the Court to be located together on the Kirchberg plateau.
Extension of the main building of the Court of Auditors

This project, completed in 2003, provided room to house the staff recruited after the fourth enlargement of the European Union in 1995. A ‘K3’ extension project is planned for 2013 in order to house together all the staff taken on after the 2004 and 2007 enlargements.
