‘The origins of and developments in European governance: the impact of the Treaty of Rome establishing the EEC’ forum (Luxembourg, 24 April 2007)

At the forum ‘The origins of and developments in European governance: the impact of the Treaty of Rome establishing the European Economic Community (March 1957)', organised on 23 and 24 April 2007 by the Pierre Werner Institute in Luxembourg, key figures who were closely involved in the process, including Georges Berthoin, Charles Rutten, Pierre Pescatore and Jean François-Poncet, gave their account of the beginnings of European integration.


This conference, jointly organised at academic level by the University of Luxembourg (the Centre for European Law and the Research Programme on European Governance) and the Pierre Werner Institute, enjoyed the financial and logistical support of the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Luxembourg National Scientific Research Fund (FNRS), the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l'Europe (CVCE), the Office for Official Publications of the European Communities and the bookshop Libo.
