‘The plan for a Western Parliament’ from Le Soir (26 January 1949)
Text This article, published on 26 January 1949 in the Belgian daily newspaper Le Soir on the eve of a meeting of the Brussels Treaty Council, explains the British Government’s reluctance to subscribe to the plan to create a European Ministerial Council and a Consultative Assembly, already approved by France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
