‘“Lord” Churchill has spoken: extend the war bloc’ from L’Unità (8 May 1948)
Text On 8 May 1948, commenting on the opening of the Congress of Europe in The Hague the previous day, the Italian Communist daily newspaper L’Unità harshly criticises the aims of pro-European activists and deplores the risk of enslavement for European workers.
