Text On 26 July 1956, Maurice Faure, French Junior Foreign Minister and Head of the French Delegation to the Intergovernmental Conference on the Common Market and Euratom, delivers an address to the heads of the other national delegations meeting at the Château de Val Duchesse in which he outlines the position of France on the establishment of a European Economic Community and of a European Atomic Energy Community.
