Cartoon by Woop on the risk of the spread of communist influence in Africa (10 May 1950)
Bild "Ladies and gentlemen, don't worry: as soon as you leave, I'll be here to take over. " On 10 May 1950, cartoonist Woop illustrates Moscow's ambitions on the African continent. Through his drawing, he criticises the Soviet Union's international policy, suggesting that it could take advantage of future decolonisation in Africa to spread communist ideology within the newly independent states and thus increase its influence on the continent.
