The plan for a direct television satellite by the Compagnie luxembourgeoise de télédiffusion (1982)

Text
Following the decision by the World Administrative Radio Conference (WARC) in Geneva in January 1977 to assign each European country five channels for direct broadcast by satellite, the Compagnie luxembourgeoise de télédiffusion (Luxembourg Broadcasting Company — CLT), in cooperation with government authorities, prepares to launch a Luxembourg satellite in 1982. The potential positive repercussions of direct-to-home (DTH) television are also outlined.
