Referendum on the issue of the monarchy (12 March 1950)
Image On 12 March 1950, following a referendum, the Belgians declare themselves, by a majority of 57.68 % of the votes cast, in favour of the return of King Leopold III to the throne, despite the emergence of significant regional disparities.
